My listener, turned friend, share her story of being a transgender woman. I have had some other transgender women on Ongline before. But they are usually at the later part of the transition process. I thought it would be nice to let people know in details of what the process is like, and hopefully inspire further understanding and compassion.
Cathy is generous enough to share her time and stories with us.

Along with over 300 people, I attended the Kansas City’s own Fight the H8 rally. I chatted with many people and asking them why was it important that they are out there in the cold to be in this rally.
This will be one of the top issues of my life to fight for the right that was taken away from me simply because I’m gay. Yes, this is personal. You won’t stop hearing from me.

Two weeks ago I introduced you to this film about Muslim Transexual Sex Workers. This week I want to get the opinion of a transexual, who is NOT a sex worker, who wants to view her opinion about this film. Yuki, who is a co-contributor to TiltedWorld.org is kind enough to chat with us about herself and this film.

I am so excited to chat with PohSi Teng, one of the three winners of the Freedom Film Festival (FFF) 2008. Her bold subject in her documentary caught my attention. Find out about PohSi herself and her documentary project of Muslim transexual workers in Malaysia. She also talked about the challenges she faced and the things she got out of this project. I can’t wait to see this documentary myself. I will give you my opinion as soon as I get my hands on this film.
Those of you who are in Malaysia, these are the upcoming screenings. For more information, go to PohSi’s website for more detailed information reserving your tickets. All admissions are free.
Thanks to Gabrielle for posting the article here on TiltedWorld.org earlier. That’s what got me in touch with Teng PohSi.
